Wil Cardon is a fifth-generation Arizonan who is dedicated to improving our state. He is a businessman, a jobs creator, a Washington outsider and a consistent, reliable, full-spectrum conservative.

As a business owner, Wil knows what it is like to deal with oppressive regulations and an excessive tax burden. That is why he is a strong advocate for common sense, market driven reforms to shrink the size of our federal government and to help it operate more efficiently. As our next U.S. Senator, Wil’s top priorities will be to get our economy growing again so that we can create jobs right here in Arizona, and to secure our border so that Arizona no longer suffers the financial burdens and societal costs associated with illegal immigration.

Wil attended Mountain View High School in Mesa where he was successful as a student and as an all-state wide receiver on the football team. He attended and played football at Brigham Young University, later transferring to and graduating from Stanford University with a B.A. in Public Policy. While at Stanford he was a member of the football team under Hall of Fame Coach Bill Walsh.

Wil and his wife Nicole moved back to Arizona after Stanford where he worked two jobs for several years. He then went on to earn a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School. After graduation, Wil returned to Arizona and started his own small business before going on to become the President and CEO of his family’s business. The Cardon Group was originally founded in 1934 by Wil’s grandfather, Wilford Pratt Cardon, or “Pat” Cardon as he was better known. For the last two decades, Wil Cardon has been diversifying the family business, creating jobs, investing in people, products, properties, and helping start-up companies succeed. This real-world experience is why Wil Cardon is the candidate who best understands what businesses need to create jobs and what it will take to get the U.S. economy growing again.

In addition to running a successful business, Wil and his family are dedicated to improving our community. Wil is involved in philanthropy and with numerous charitable organizations in Arizona. With Wil’s help, Banner Health, Arizona’s largest non-profit entity, was able to build a children’s hospital to provide 248 pediatric beds and six operating rooms. Banner named the new hospital the “Cardon Children’s Medical Center.”
Wil and his wife, Nicole, have been married for 20 years and live in Mesa with their five children ages 12 to 2.

Salmon was also honored as a “Friend of Small Business” from the National Federation of Independent Business for six consecutive years.

Among Salmon’s many Congressional accomplishments was the sponsoring of “Aimee’s Law”, a measure that gave “No Second Chances” for rapists, molesters and murderers. “Aimee’s Law” received widespread support by a large number of organizations and victims’ rights groups including the National Fraternal Order of Police, Law Enforcement Alliance of America, Kids Safe, Justice for All, National Association of Crime Victims’ Rights, and the Women’s Coalition.

He was the only member of the U.S. Congress in America’s history to speak fluent Mandarin Chinese. In 2000, Salmon was instrumental in obtaining the release of U.S. based academic researcher Song Yongyi who was being held in China on spying charges.

Salmon began his career in public service as an Arizona State Senator, a position in which he served from 1991 to 1995. While in the Arizona Senate, he served as the Assistant Majority Leader and chaired the Rules Committee.

Before serving as a State Senator, Salmon worked thirteen years as a telecommunications executive in Arizona.
